Apostolic Messianic movement

Apostolic Messianic is a movement that considers itself a restoration of the early Christian faith to its Jewish identity. It is also referred to as Apostolic Messianic Judaism.
Overview
The Apostolic Messianic movement originated with the unity of followers from several Oneness Pentecostal groups. These saw a connection of Oneness Pentecostalism with what they considered to be the Messianic Judaism of the first century. Believing that the modern church had departed too far from its Jewish roots, they desired to form a Oneness group that was Messianic in faith, practice, conduct, and order.
Apostolic Messianics believe that true Christianity is a Jewish religion - i.e. that all who profess faith in Jesus Christ become Jewish by conversion. However they reject most first-century and present day Jewish practices - for example they do not follow Kosher, do not practice circumcision, and they believe the Jewish scriptures are subordinate to the New Testament and must be interpreted through it, in the same way that most Christians do.
History
The group was founded in 1995 in Tampa, Florida by Oneness historian Dr. Gary Reckart, Sr., being formed from the various Oneness Pentecostal organizations. In its present form, the movement is considered a merging of Oneness Pentecostalism and what the group considers the ancient Messianic beliefs of the followers of Jesus. It stresses the Jewishness of the New Testament Church into which Gentiles are grafted (Romans 11:17). The movement now has over 8,000 adherents worldwide.
The Endtime Jewish Church
One purpose of the Apostolic Messianic movement is to restore what it considers to be correct interpretation of prophecy that relates to Israel and specifically the Jews of the 144,000 found in Revelation chapters 7 and 14. There are many Jews who accept Jesus as the Messieh and King of Israel. But many of these have still not reached their destiny as the Apostle Peter preached in Acts 2:38. It is part of the evangelism of the Apostolic Messianic movement to seek out the endtime remnant of the 144,000 and assist them in the final unity for the coming of Jesus. Together, Messianic Apostolic Jews and converted Gentiles will complete the olive tree Israel of God as found in Romans 11.
Doctrine and Theology
Apostolic Messianics believe in Oneness theology - that is, they reject the mainstream Christian Trinitarian view of God and assert that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all the same person and simply different modes of operation of God. They follow Acts 2:38 as the plan of faith and grace salvation. They believe in holiness and separation from all things evil and sinful. They observe the Lord's Communion only on Passover according to the Jewish calendar - on the same night Jesus and the Apostles celebrated his memorial. They believe in the currency of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in miracles. They also believe in the ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.
