Any2 is a layer 2, IPv6-supporting, physical network switch operated by CoreSite to facilitate peering, the exchange of Internet traffic between Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and content creators and providers. It is a place for network providers to interconnect and exchange IP traffic at a local or international level. Any2 is comprised of multiple Internet exchange points, or IXPs, the most densely-populated of which is Any2 California, offered at CoreSite data centers in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area including One Wilshire and 55 S. Market. Any2 California currently has nearly 200 networks actively peering, making it one of the largest IXPs in the United States. Any2 Northeast is the most recent addition to CoreSite's peering offering . This distributed exchange offers peering between CoreSite data centers in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and New York City. Networks residing at other CoreSite data centers in Chicago, Miami, and Boston may use the local Any2 to interconnect with desired networks. CoreSite also offers "remote access" peering on the Any2 to networks not at a CoreSite data center. Companies who are able to provide their own transport or access to a CoreSite data center will be offered the same rates as those at a local CoreSite facility. For companies without the capital or human resources to support multiple, direct interconnections, route server peering may be a better option. Any2 provides route server peering via the Any2Easy offering. One BGP session will allow connectivity to all Any2Easy participants. Any2Easy welcomes networks of all sizes and manages peers by writing route maps and filters for a single BGP session. Available ports on the Any2 range from 100 MBPS to 10-GBPS. Any2 peering is available at CoreSite data centers in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Northern Virginia, San Francisco/San Jose, Santa Clara, and Washington DC. CoreSite is a wholly owned operating partner of The Carlyle Group, one of the world's largest private equity firms.
