ANXeBusiness (ANX) is a technology company providing managed network connectivity and tools to global businesses which enable secure collaboration within or between enterprises. ANX business product lines include: Managed Network Services, Managed Security, Cloud based Remote Access, Transaction Services and Lifecycle Management Services.
Company Background
ANXeBusiness is owned by One Equity Partners (OEP) , which manages $8 billion of investments and commitments for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in direct private equity transactions. OEP acquired ANX in October 2006 from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), which had formed ANX in 1999 following the acquisition of the ANX Network from The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG.)
Prior to December 2006, the ANX core business was the operation of the Automotive Network Exchange. This patented B2B extranet is an approved and mandated network for providing data connectivity and transaction delivery solutions to the North American automotive industry including the original equipment manufacturers and the supporting vendors in their supply chain .
Since being acquired by OEP, ANX has grown organically and through acquisitions. Its acquisitions include Management Information Systems Group (MISG) in December 2006 and Virtual Services, Inc. (VSI) in July 2007. The MISG acquisition gave ANX a presence in the automotive aftermarket. ANX provides EDI services, value added network consolidation, outsourced data translation and fully managed B2B collaboration and optimization. ANX acquired MISG from the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association and continues to operate this business unite in Research Triangle Park, NC. Through its acquisition of VSI, ANX began providing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions to the automotive, transportation and aerospace supply chains.
ANX further diversified its product portfolio with the acquisition of the VPN division of Positive Networks in September of 2008. The Positive Networks acquisition provided ANX with a cloud based managed VPN platform which delivers managed remote access and site-to-site VPN services. Most recently, ANX acquired CSCI in October 2008 and now provides hardware-based managed firewall and VPN services through a partnership with Juniper Networks. In January 2009, Corp! Magazine recognized ANXeBusiness as a "Best of the Best Michigan Business" .
