Ant Records was an independent record label based in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, active from 1993 - 1999. Notable artists who released albums on the Ant Records label include Sixtoo, The MOTES, and DJ Moves. In the mid-1990s the label was one of the first to use the internet to promote their releases, and despite minimal resources and no formal distribution were able to sell their music in many countries around the world. Most Ant Records releases are still available as a free download from their website. Ant Records stopped releasing new music in 1999. The founders remain active in the music and arts community of Halifax, Nova Scotia. |
