Spam-free searches
The Ansearch.com.au search engine's main point of difference with its competitors is to deliver spam-free search. In this, the engine only returns domain names/home pages in the search engine results pages if the websites are available in the database, providing cleaner listings/results. The site also does not accept search submissions, making it free of search engine spam for the main categorised results.
Directory
Ansearch's directory is a combination of human-edited and automatic. Websites that appear in the directory are added based on website popularity, which is measured across all Ansearch-owned search brands.
Popularity search/demographic search
Ansearch.com.au provides a popularity search feature. Sites in the search engine are ranked based on popularity and also ranked based on use by sex and age. The site allows the web user to search for data based on their sex and age.
World sites
Ansearch.com, Ansearch.co.uk and Ansearch.co.nz are all search engines currently running in 'learning' mode and will be launched in early 2007.
Other owned search engines
Ansearch.com.au also own the search engines Anzwers.com.au and Mysearch.com.au. Anzwers.com.au, formally owned by Ozemail, was acquired by Ansearch Ltd in March 2006 and is one of Australia's oldest search engines, having been launched in 1996. Mysearch.com.au was launched in 1997 and was previously owned by startup.com.au.
