Annette Breaux

Annette L. Breaux is a bestselling author, poet, and speaker. A former classroom teacher, she currently writes books on techniques for classroom management and developing strong relationships with students. Breaux also speaks at many conferences and schools, and she is known for both her common sense and humor. Principals agree that they see results from their teachers the very next day after hearing Breaux speak.
Her expertise is in student achievement, classroom management, and new teacher induction.
Educational career
Annette Breaux is a former classroom teacher and curriculum coordinator. She currently serves as the Teacher Induction Coordinator for Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Breaux developed a new teacher induction program for the Lafourche Parish Public Schools in Louisiana that was hailed as one of the best in the country and subsequently adopted by the Louisiana Department of Education as a statewide model. This program is currently called the Framework for Induction, Retaining, and Supporting Teachers, or FIRST program.
Breaux is represented by the Premiere Speakers Bureau and Lecture Management.
Publications
Breaux teamed with Dr. Harry K. Wong to co-author a book on new teacher induction titled New Teacher Induction: How to Train, Support, and Retain New Teachers. She also co-wrote Seven Simple Secrets: What the BEST Teachers Know and Do! and the forthcoming 50 Ways to Improve Student Behavior: Simple Solutions to Complex Challenges with Dr. Todd Whitaker. Breaux's other books include 101 Answers for New Teachers and Their Mentors, REAL Teachers, REAL Challenges, REAL Solutions, and The Poetry of Annette Breaux: Tips and Poems for Teachers and Students, all published by Eye On Education. She is the creator of 10 Days to Maximum Teaching Success, a set of teacher training audio CDs. Breaux's most recent book is titled 101 Poems for Teachers and is illustrated by L.Susan Brandt.
