Anne Parker was one of the first to be tested for the BRCA-1 Gene. She has participated in several studies relating to the role of genetics in her particular cancers, and assisted doctors in the development and design of an information kit, in the form of a booklet and an audiotape for women who have a family history of breast cancer. This resource allows those women who run the risk of breast cancer to be educated, to self identify, and to better talk with their doctors about managing the disease. This information kit was adopted by the Canadian Cancer Society, where it is currently distributed throughout Ontario.
