Anne Elisabeth Münster Halvari

Anne Elisabeth Münster Halvari (born 21 July 1956) is a Norwegian associate professor at the Institute of Clinical Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Oslo.
Halvari was educated as dental hygienist at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Dentistry from 1978 to 1980.
She graduated as a PhD in 2011, at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Dentistry. Her PhD thesis title was "Motivation, Dental Behaviors, Well-Being, and Oral Health: Cross-sectional and Experimental Studies Testing Self-Determination Theory". Her trial lecture focused on: "Compare and contrast theories of health behavior/ behavioral change that have been applied to dental health".
As an associate professor, Halvari teaches psychology, health promotion and prevention at the University of Oslo. She coordinates and supervises Bachelor theses of dental nurses. Supervisor for a PhD student on Self-Determination Theory. At Tannhelsetjenestens kompetansesenter Øst (TkØ), she teaches psychology, psychiatry, public health, health promotion, oral health - quality of life, theory of science and method and further education for dental nurses.
Halvari is a senior researcher related to dental anxiety treatment in TOO-teams, at the Oral Health Center of Expertise in Eastern Norway (OHCEEN), Tannhelsetjenestens kompetansesenter Øst (TkØ). During 2018, she held courses for dentists, dental hygienists and dental nurses, reflecting "Motivation, anxiety and health-promoting guidance".
Her particular research interests include psychology, anxiety, motivation-and learning contexts, dental health, health promotion, health preventive behavior and public health work. Halvari is a member of the Self-Determination Research Society.
