Anna Westner

Anna Westner (* September 21, 1999) is a German politician (). She is the federal spokeswoman of the Left Youth Solid.
Life
After graduating from the Gymnasium Altötting, Westner studied human medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 2018 to 2019. Since 2019, she has been studying sociology with a supplementary subject in politics and administration at the University of Potsdam. She is a scholarship holder of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
Westner is an employee of the Berlin regional association of NaturFreunde and coordinates projects there.
She was a member of the archery squad of the archery district of Upper Bavaria and, among other things, was Bavarian runner-up in archery in 2016.
Politics
In December 2017, Westner joined the Left Party and the Left Youth Solid. In February 2018, she was elected state spokeswoman of the Left Youth Solid in Bavaria. In March 2019, she was re-elected as state spokesperson. At the federal congress of Linksjugend Solid in December 2019, Westner was elected as its federal spokesperson. At the federal congress in November 2020, she was re-elected.
As part of the Left Youth mentoring program, she was a mentee of Stefan Liebich.
Positions
Her political priorities are feminism, anti-fascism, rural areas and anti-Semitism criticism. She supports maritime search and rescue, and opposes the tightening of the police law in Bavaria.
She demands the deletion of § 219a from the penal code and an abolition of the special status of homeopathics.
Westner demands a clear development of the public local passenger traffic and the bus and course distances in particular in the rural area. In the long term, she said, public transportation should become free.
