Anish 1

Anish 1 is
Reagan Gordon; a rapper from Regina, Saskatchewan. He began rapping in the early 90s. Most of the subjects covered in his raps include socioeconomic issues facing Aboriginal people.
In terms of Anish 1's educational background , Anish 1 received his education from a variety of institutions. He attended Balfour Collegiate in Regina and received a diploma. Additionally, he attended the University of Regina where he received a degree in Anthropology and Indian Studies; moreover, he is currently working on his masters in Social Studies. As well, he has been taking classes at the Harvard and Berkeley universities with an aim on law and computer science.
As a result of attending university, Anish 1 has been an active writer in the community. He writes articles for Saskatchewan's largest Aboriginal newspaper Eagle Feather News. Futhermore, he has written articles for the University of Regina's Carrillon newspaper.
Since writing articles for various newpapers and magazines, Anish 1 has managed to produce numerous music videos. He has produced the video "Canada's Worst Neighborhood, Northcentral" and "City of Gangs". Some of these video can be seen on Youtube and Myspace.
While working on music videos, Anish has released various CDs. Some of his notable works include "Bridges 2 Nowhere" and "Stand off in Northcentral" available on Itunes. Currently, he is working on the 'Battle Soldiers" for summer 2010.
Even though Anish 1 has mainly focused on music and writing, Anish 1 has been active in promoting hiphop events. In the past, he has created the first-ever First Nations Hiphop Festival held on the Pasqua Firstnation in Saskatchewan, Canada.
