Angela Jones-Evans (born 17 April 1966) is a Welsh Conservative Party politician, and Assembly Candidate for the highly marginal seat of the Vale of Glamorgan in the National Assembly for Wales election in May 2011. Background Angela was born and brought up in Newport, South Wales, where she attended the local comprehensive school. She went on to gain a bachelor's degree from Aberystwyth University and, after working in local government, won a British Academy scholarship to study for a PhD at Sheffield University. Following the PhD, she worked at the University of Wales College of Medicine and then went on to become a Senior Lecturer at the University of Northumbria at the age of 26. During her 30’s, whilst also starting a family, she worked as the Head of Library Services at UWIC, Deputy Director of the Open University in Wales, and Head of Information Support Services at Bangor University. Since January 2006, she has been the director of her own company which specialises in training and research , and holds a position on the steering group committee of Conservative Women in Small Enterprises.
