Andrew 'Zig' Leipzig Artist - Sayville, New York. 'Zig' is a contemporary artist whose work crosses the boundaries of classical art and modern technology. Diametrically opposed themes with anachronistic visions create surrealist works that are acutely intuitive, a Madonna clutching a boom box, aliens invading a historic seaport and lasering a cow from above. Robots, an x-rayed rubber duck and nuclear explosions combined liberally with classic paintings from art history. Born November 1, 1957, Brooklyn New York. Raised in Brooklyn, his parents Marsha and Edwin Leipzig divorced at an early age was raised primarily by his grandparents Ruth and William Gross, Whose son was the photographer Cy Gross who did work for Tiffany's and Town and Country Magazine. Leipzig showed at the Brooklyn Museum of Art in their BACA exhibit at an early age. Developed Zig Studios freelance and graphic design. Digital Art Pioneer. Pop-Surrealist featuring anachronistic themes and visions. Pulse Magazine: Influenced by society’s increasing commercialization (and, as graphic designer, a minister of it) this artist creates surrealist works that are acutely intuitive but do not take themselves too seriously. Commentary on modern life can be interpreted with or without a sense of scorn—a lack of condescension on the artist’s part leaves it to the viewer to decide. - Pulse Magazine VIP Artist * Brooklyn Museum of Art BACA Exhibit * Best in Show Gallery on the Hill/Wet Paint Society * Live visual performance 'Artmosphere' Tilles Center * International Award of Excellence/DH KRAHN * Islip Art Museum Curator Select 'Free Play' * Karyn Mannix Contemporaries - Southampton * Solo Shows: Spacial Relativity, Transfiguration, Pixelicious More recent work has focused on anachronistic pop surrealism.
