Andrew David Bradley (born 4 August 1988) is the former President of University of Warwick Students' Union. Bradley is also a former President of Warwick Liberal Democrats. He is the son of author and academic Ian Bradley and the grandson of Robert Blackburn, the Irish educationalist and early pioneer of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). Early life Born in Dundee, Andrew Bradley was brought up in St Andrews, Fife. Bradley attended and St Leonards School, where he was head boy. In 2006, Bradley enrolled at the University of Warwick to study Politics. On completing the three year course, he stood for election as President of the University of Warwick Students' Union. He was elected in February 2009. Parliamentary debates As President of University of Warwick Students' Union, Andrew Bradley has been invited to speak before the All Party Parliamentary University Group in the Houses of Parliament on two occasions. On 21 April 2009, he spoke as part of a panel on student experience alongside then President of the National Union of Students Wes Streeting and the director of the British Council with Labour Party Member of Parliament Joan Humble chairing. The second occasion, which took place on 24 February 2010, was on the subject of the National Student Survey with Professor Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University and Chair of the national steering group for the National Student Survey and Lord Young of Norwood Green, former Minister for Students. The debate was chaired by the Liberal Democrat MP David Howarth. 2010 G8 University Summit Andrew Bradley was the only representative from the UK at the 2010 G8 University Students Summit, which was jointly hosted by University of Alberta and University of British Columbia. The Summit took place between 1-3 May 2010 and was held at Banff Centre in the Candadian Rockies. The themes for the Summit were Sustainable Energy and Sustainable Health. Notable media appearances On 11 November 2009 in a special Remembrance Day edition of Channel 4 News, Andrew Bradley took part in the debate "War in Afghanistan: Home front" filmed in Coventry and presented by Jon Snow. On 23 February 2010, Andrew featured in an article by Lucy Tobin in the education supplement of The Guardian about student voting intentions in the 2010 General Election. In his capacity as President of the Students' Union, Andrew has been interviewed on both BBC Coventry & Warwickshire and BBC WM about the issue of tuition fees and the general election. On 24 March 2010, Andrew was a panelist for Rory Bremner's stand up comedy show Rory Bremner's Election Battlebus at Warwick Arts Centre. The other panellists were Dave Nellist, Wyn Grant and Jon Gaunt. The debate was later televised on Channel 4 as Bremner, Bird and Fortune: The Daily Wind-Up.
