Andres A Pena

Andres Pena (born April 29, 1985 in Guayaquil, Ecuador) is an Ecuadorian American soccer player who currently plays for Olympique Montreux. Nicknamed "El Pibe" Spanish for "the kid" by assistant coach Marcos Melendes for sporting blond dread locks resembling Colombian international soccer player Carlos Valderrama after trying out for Major League Soccer team L.A. Galaxy and being interviewed by Spanish channel Univision .
Career
Youth and Amateur
Pena began his soccer career at the age of 9 as a goal keeper in the developmental leagues of Asociación de Fútbol No Amatur (AFNA) de Pichincha (Spanish for Non-Amateur Football Association of Pichincha). Then he went on to play for Sociedad Deportivo Quito which is a football club based in Quito, Ecuador until the age of 16 as their starter goal keeper.
At that young age Pena moved to Bountiful, a city in Davis County, Utah, United States, where he went to play and captain his high school Woods Cross High School team winning Regional Championship in 2003 his senior year.
Pena changed positions from Goal keeper to Forward\Striker, seeking a more thrilling future and being able to make a team win.
He debuted in the Premiership division which is the top division of Amateur soccer in the state of Utah with Olympique Montreux June 2009 scoring 1 goal against Rocky Mountain Rivals.
Andres has said that his goal is to become a professional soccer player while going to school University of Utah

Andres is married to AnnMarie Pena, they currently live in Bountiful, Utah. They have a daughter Isabela V. Pena. He is attending school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City major in Pre Law.
