Andreas Eppink is a Dutch entrepreneur, organizational consultant and independent scientific researcher, living in Spain since 1995. He was born on 9 August 1946 in Gendringen, The Netherlands. He established himself as an independent entrepreneur in Amsterdam (1972) and subsequently in Hilversum (1984-1999). During his time in the Netherlands he gave numerous presentations and training. Because of prosopagnosia (an inability to recognize the faces of familiar people, or face blindness) and visual focus problems, he doesn't travel anymore and doesn't attend large meetings. In order to proof his approach in management consultancy, Eppink, notwithstanding his successful business and career, started a new life at age 49. In the process of emigration and the construction of a self-designed house in a new cultural environment and with a limited network, he entirely implemented his experiences in recruitment, motivation and communication. Education (Cultural Differences and Communication) was based on participant observations carries out by a cultural mixed team of professionals with the question: "How do professionals and clients with different cultural backgrounds communicate with each other, both successfully and unsuccessfully?" The observations were used in videotaped courses as models for role-playing. The book became a bestseller in the Netherlands and Belgium. In his capacity of a permanent court expert, Eppink wrote several articles on diagnostic problems due to communication and cultural differences (some articles were reprinted on Academia.edu). As to his different definitions of culture, the next definition is one of the most cited in Malaysia and Indonesia: Culture covers the understanding of the whole of a society's social values, standards and overall knowledge of social structures, religious expressions and so on, including all the intellectual and artistic expressions that characterize a society. Founder and owner of Eppink Adviesgroep Hilversum 1983-1998. As to social and media training: Vrije University of Amsterdam, IT-companies (Bull, Volmac, Ordina, and Cap-Gemini), and short-term collaboration with many small and medium businesses. A strategic planning project of the region Axarquía in Spain eventually led to Eppink's permanent establishment in Andalusia. Eppink coached successful managers and CEOs on how to reorganize their life and business and how to enhance the continuity chances of their relations and organizations or alliances. In 1993 he developed the self-analysis and personal development program called Who Am I Actually? Activities in the Field of Migration. His suggestions have been adopted by the different receiving countries but never implemented. Eppink contributed to concerted action in various steering committees in Geneva (UN), Strasbourg (Council of Europe) and Brussels (CEE). Eppink wrote several books and more than 40 articles on this subject (some articles were reprinted on Academia.edu).
