André Moreau

André Moreau is an Emmy-winning veteran TV news anchor who is currently Anchor and Managing Editor for Louisiana Public Broadcasting's statewide weekly news magazine show 'Louisiana: The State We're In.' He joined LPB in June 2017. He also serves as co-host for selected telecasts of LPB's monthly news forum show 'Public Square.'
He previously co-anchored WAFB-TV's top-rated 6 and 10 newscasts with long-time journalist Donna Britt from 2008-2016. While Moreau was behind the desk, WAFB earned the distinction of having the top-ranked local 10pm newscast among of any local news affiliate in America.
Moreau was WAFB's lead sports anchor from 1987-94 and left that post in 1994 to join WCMH-TV NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio. While there, he was an integral part of the sports staff named Best in Ohio by the AP, and just months after arriving was tapped as the 'Live at 5 Guy.' The role featured Moreau during the weekday 5pm newscast with live segments throughout the hour-long program. He reached his greatest heights when he sky-dived twice on live television.
While at WCMH (1994-98) he was named King of Columbus media by a popular news journal. In his final year there, he anchored the weekend newscasts for NBC4. He then joined WJBK-TV Fox 2 in Detroit from 1998-1999 as anchor of Fox 2's weekend news. After a year in Top Ten market Detroit, he became a reporter-anchor for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles in 1999. In 2003, he accepted a job as anchor-reporter at San Diego's CBS8 KFMB-TV.
He's won numerous AP broadcasting awards, he co-hosted a Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Championship parade and co-hosted an L-A Lakers NBA Championship parade and is known for his community involvement. He has served as emcee for Baton Rouge's New Year's Eve extravaganza, "Red Stick Revelry," since it began in 2013. He will again countdown the seconds to welcome in 2018 at Town Square in downtown Baton Rouge. The event draws more than 20,000 revelers who watch a spectacular fireworks show over the Mississippi River at midnight. For his continuing coverage of Louisiana's vanishing coastline for WAFB, America's Wetland Foundation in 2015 presented Moreau with a Special Achievement Award. In San Diego, Andre' won an Emmy for his anchoring during the devastating wildfires of 2008.
