Anderson primary School is a primary school located towards the north of Singapore ; a stone's throw away from the MRT station of Yio Chu Kang and the Secondary school of Presbytarian High. History ---- Anderson primary School started it's functions on the 3rd of January , year 2000 , and being one of the first primary schools to complete the PRIME program.Majority of it's staff came from the merger of 3 previously neighbourhood schools , namely, Ang Mo Kio North Primary , Hongdao Primary and Li Hua Primary.The school then moved towards their present location on the 8th Feburary ,year 2000. School song ---- Lyric by Ms Sheila Tay, Music composed and arranged by Case in year 2000. Uniform ---- The school uniform consists of a checkered shirt with black chinese collars at the neck , which requires the school uniform to be buttoned up.The bottom half of the uniform is black , depending on the sex of the pupil.Black shoes and shorts have to be worn at the legs and tucking out the shirt is strictly prohibitted. Towards the left of the pupil's shirt , there is a breastpocket in which students have to sew or iron on their personal color-coded nametags on the top, displaying their level of seniority in the school.Currently , in the year 2007 , the nametag color for the graduating batch is red in color.Prefects have black panflaps to display the ranks ; the panflaps are to be sewn to the shoulders of the uniforms of the prefects.a plain panflap for a primary 3 prefect,a single star for a primary 4 one,two for a primary 5 one and 3 for a primary 6.Only the head prefect can have 4 stars on their panflaps (currently).
