Anders Hanson (born 25 January 1980 in Olney, Maryland) is an award-winning American writer and illustrator of nearly one hundred books used as learning tools in classrooms across the United States. Life and work Raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Hanson graduated from Hopkins High School in 1998 and moved on to earn a degree from Macalester College in 2002. Following graduation, Hanson worked with Capstone Press and Child’s World Publishing before taking a position with Mighty Media, Inc. in 2003. Since then, Hanson has written and illustrated nearly one hundred books, earning the Teachers' Choice Award for his ‘’First Words’’ series in 2006.
