Amy Lindsay-Fuller

Amy Marie Lindsay-Fuller (September 12, 1979 -November 28, 2004) was a former NCAA basketball player and a high school girls basketball coach in Indiana, United States. She was killed in a car accident.
Lindsay-Fuller, who grew up as Amy Marie Lindsay in the small Indiana community of Modoc, showed a love for basketball from a young age. She practiced constantly as a young child and entered the basketball team as a teenager. An extremely popular player among Modoc residents, she ended her high school career as Union's all-time leading scorer, a record she still holds.
Lindsay-Fuller went to the NCAA, hoping to someday join the WNBA. In 1999, she married Ric Fuller, who is also a basketball follower. Lindsay-Fuller played for the Vincennes University for two years, then transferred to Ball State.
After not being chosen by a WNBA team, she went back to her hometown, where she accepted a job as head coach of the girls' basketball team at her alma mater. The team struggled to win games, but Lindsay-Fuller was popular among her players.
Lindsay-Fuller was killed in a car accident on November 28, 2004, at the nearby location of Losantville. The accident's cause is still under investigation. Her two year old son, Cordell Fuller, survived the accident, although he suffered a broken leg. Her widower, Ric Fuller, who had been the assistant coach, became the head coach of the girls' basketball team. Under his direction, the team went on to win three games against Indianapolis Howe, Daleville, and Cowan.
Lindsay-Fuller's story gained national attention in the United States, when ESPN's staple show, "Sportscenter", aired it on April 2, 2005. Another show, "Outside the Lines", plans to cover Lindsay-Fuller's story.
Cinderella Award
The National Federation for Sate High School Associations will present the Union Lady Rockets with the 2005 Cinderella Award on February 16, 2006 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
