AmIRC is an MUI-based IRC client for the Amiga. AmIRC is the most definitive IRC client for Amiga. It requires MUI (Magic User Interface), a TCP/IP stack (Genesis, AmiTCP, Miami, MiamiDX) and AmigaOS 2.x or later. AmIRC largely influenced the GUI-design of XChat, so much so that man page of the former defines it as an IRC client similar to AmIRC. AmIRC supports ARexx allowing other applications to integrate with it. AmIRC was a shareware program, using software keys to license it; if somebody would be found to be using a pirate key the software would retaliate by embarrassing that user in a channel by secretly sending "/me is a lame software pirate" over and over, and would demo out after 30 minutes if no keys were found.
