Amer Huneidi

Amer Salim Al-Huneidi, (known as Amer Huneidi) born 18 September 1960, is the chairman of Gulf Cryo K.S.C.C, a closed shareholding company operating in the industrial gas field in the Middle East. Mr.Huneidi’s experience spans more than 30 years and includes executive management in almost every area of business with Gulf Cryo.

In 1998 Mr. Huneidi succeeded his father, the late Mr. Salim Al-Huneidi as chairman of Kuwait Oxygen and Acetylene Company (KOAC).
Early life
Amer was born in Syria to his parents, Ms. Lamees Katbeh Bader and Mr.Salim Al Huneidi . He completed his high school from the Abdullah Al Salem High School, Kuwait. He is a Business graduate from the California State University of Sacramento, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration on Marketing.
Career
Since 1987, Mr. Huneidi held several positions in KOAC, from vice president of sales in Kuwait through to CEO of Kuwait and UAE operations. He has been vital in the growth of Gulf Cryo into a group of companies that comprises over 30 affiliated companies over the MENA region. He is also a member of a number of notable company boards in the Middle East, Europe and the US. He was a founding partner of Canvas Media - UAE from 2005 to 2012 and a partner of North Plains - Canada from 2001 to 2006. He is a major shareholder of Rimal Management and Consultancy Co., Kuwait and a Director at the International Oxygen Manufacturers Association (IOMA), a non-profit organization.

In 2003 he restructured his company with an international vision, which led to a massive impact on the business output that saw a ten-fold increase in manufacturing capacity.

In 2006 Mr.Amer Huneidi took complete control of the business, he consolidated the business and created the Huneidi Group.

Mr.Huneidi has directed the company’s global strategy for three decades and led the restructuring of Gulf Cryo to an absolute success.
Gulf Cryo K.S.C.C.
Gulf Cryo has been manufacturing and supplying industrial, medical and specialty gases to a wide range of industries across the Middle East. The company was established in 1953 as the Kuwait Oxygen and Acetylene Company by Salim Huneidi, the father of the current chairman Amer Huneidi. It was the first gas manufacturer in Kuwait to provide industrial gases such as oxygen and nitrogen to the booming local petroleum industry. The company then expanded into the UAE during the 1970’s, with the formation of the Arabian Industrial Gases Company in Sharjah. Driven by the chairman’s vision of building a ‘group’, Gulf Cryo now comprises of over 30 production and distribution sites operating in 12 countries, including all the GCC countries, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Turkey and Austria.
Gulf Cryo's capabilities include a considerable pipeline distribution network, the largest merchant air separation production capacity in the region as well as an extensive network of facilities producing and distributing oxygen, nitrogen, acetylene, carbon dioxide, dry ice, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, food-grade, specialty and medical gases.
Other Business Ventures
Amer Huneidi has been collecting modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art over a decade. He has founded The Contemporary Art Platform (CAP), a non-profit art institution in September 2011. Since its opening, the CAP Kuwait has hosted many exhibitions, events, workshops and presentations. The Contemporary Art Platform seeks to breathe life into the Kuwaiti art scene through a variety of activities geared towards its needs and potential.
CAP is located in Life Centre, a mall in Industrial Shuwaikh, Kuwait. It is a 2000 square meter gallery, including an artist’s studio, lounging facilities and a resource centre.
CAP offers workshops and lectures with local and international artists, studio hours for armature and professional artists. It also host’s art & documentary film viewings and grant-writing resources and assistance for Arab artists, thus providing a platform for the development of Arab Art.

Personal Life
Mr.Huneidi is married to Mrs. Rana Kotob Huneidi and has three sons. Two of his sons have joined Mr. Huneidi in his Company Gulf Cryo and the youngest is perusing his higher studies in Paris.
