<big> </big> Amber Philpott is a television journalist and news anchor for WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. Biography Amber Philpott anchors WKYT News at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, and 11:00. Philpott is a native of Cynthiana, Kentucky. She attended Morehead State University, graduating in 2003. After graduation, she was hired as morning anchor for WKYT's sister station WYMT-TV in Hazard, Kentucky. After working for a year and a half at WYMT, Philpott was promoted to her current position at WKYT. In 2009, Philpott was awarded the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters award for Best TV News Anchor. In 2010, she finished in second place for the Best TV News Anchor award. |
