Angel Nabil Ayoub (born June 5, 1970), known by her stage name Amani (), is a Lebanese dancer, choreographer, teacher, and actress. Early life Amani was born in a small town between Beirut and Tripoli. She was born in an artistic family, her mother Samira Zad is one of the Golden Era Dancers in Cairo from 1946-1955 and appeared in many films of that era. Even though Amani's mother tongue is Arabic, she also speaks French and English, as she grew up she came to like the old black and white films starring famous actresses at that time Samia Gamal and Tahia Carioca, but she came to prefer American films in her teenage days. She was spotted dancing at a party by a Lebanese entertainment V.I.P. and a star was born. Career In 1987 first of April Amani started her journey of success she traveled many palaces around the word to pursue her career from Arabian and foreign to Australia Italy and France. in 1989 Amani started working on her own in all Arab world, she used a distinctive character in music and rhythm which no dancer has ever danced to, Amani founded a gaps in the oriental dance form, she worked on developing and enhancing oriental dance vocabulary In 1992 she gained her reputation as a different and far from the stream of regular dancers. In 1993, and for the first time in the history of oriental dancing, Amani represented in a corporeal form two historical stories through beautiful dancing in an effort to introduce culture and education under the logo of oriental dancing. In 1996 she was the first dancer who moved Oriental dancing from nightclubs to the theater. Spring 1999, Amani moved her presentation to theater giving this art form a new horizon in a theatrical work. She became Lebanon's dance ambassador to the world. one of the titles that were granted to Amani was "The carnival of dancing" because she excelled in all styles of dance such as Jazz, Indian and the theatrical, in addition to all types of oriental dancing, becoming the most popular dancer and news of her reaching to America. For the aim on putting together with the dancers of the world onto one work for purifying and upgrading oriental dance, she founded her annual educational festival Amani Oriental Festival the year 2005. Tuition From America to Europe, Amani visited Germany, in 1995, where she hosted a dance show. She also established master class, workshop which attracted dancers from all Europe to learn her new developed style in oriental dancing. The experience made Amani happy and filled her with passion for the idea of workshops, because this is what she thought of as her real mission to spread new ways of oriental dancing. Amani, as a master teacher, is touring the oriental dance communities for master classes.
