Amanda Aldous

Amanda Elizabeth Aldous MBE is a British art dealer and charitable festival organiser. She is CEO of Amanda Aldous Fine Art, based in Hampshire. She is the founder of the acclaimed Hackwood Art Festival , and in 2016 she was awarded an MBE for services to the Arts .
Early Life
Aldous was born in Paris in 1962, the daughter of Army Officer Michael Jordan and Elizabeth Jordan. She read English at Anglia Ruskin University, before embarking on a career at Phillips Auctioneers (now Bonhams) in London.
Career
Aldous has over 15 years experience in dealing and promoting the work of artists. She started her career by founding the Hackwood Art Festival in 2003, which put on 6 festivals between 2005 and 2013. The charitable festivals focused on raising money for the local community, as well as raising the reputation of artists in Hampshire.
In 2009, Aldous founded Amanda Aldous Fine Art , a company dedicated to selling Contemporary and mid-20th Century British Art.
In 2016, she was awarded an MBE in the Queen's 90th Birthday Honours List, for services to the arts. Following this, she was charged with fundraising and project managing the first ever public sculpture of Jane Austen to commemorate the bi-centenary of her death. The sculpture is to be located in the market square in Basingstoke .
Personal life
Aldous is married to fund manager Christopher Aldous, with whom she has 5 children. They live in Hampshire.
She is a member of the Chelsea Arts Club.
