Alvir Navin is a professional musician and technology entrepreneur. He joined his brother, Ashwin Navin and Bram Cohen to become a co-founder of BitTorrent, Inc. Alvir helped establish the company in September 2004, managing advertiser and content relationships leveraging his background in the music industry. Before BitTorrent, Navin started the rock music group called Quitter. Quitter was a rock music group signed to Velvet Hammer Music, the record label arm of the Los Angeles-based company that manages Deftones. Quitter released its album Sender.Receiver last November on its own Headphone Music imprint. That CD followed on the heels of two five-song, home-recorded EPs.
