Altus Disputatio

Altus Disputatio is the debating tournament conducted under the auspices of the Debate Society at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. Widely acknowledged for its electrifying rounds and gripping twist and turns, Altus Disputatio is seen as a platform for the uninhibited expression of opinions, thoughts and ideas. It tests ones adeptness at thinking on their feet as much as Altus Disputatio.
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, was established in 2005, taking over from the erstwhile National Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. The University is one of the country’s premier institutes for legal studies and every year churns out law graduates who excel in their chosen fields of specialization. Apart from its focus on academics, NUALS also aims at training students to become responsible citizens with well-rounded personalities. The forums and centers organize events and competitions which add to the cultural scene of the college.
NUALS Debate Forum
The NUALS Debate Forum was created in 2005 with the laudable aim of refining and developing the amateur debater.The NUALS Debate Forum has taken huge strides in furthering its objective by holding various inter and intra-collegiate literary and debating events. The Debate Forum forms an integral part of the co-curricular wing of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies. It organizes one of the largest cultural events held by the college, Altus Disputatio.
Conceived in 2010, Altus Disputatio is the debating tournament conducted under the auspices of the Debate Society at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies(NUALS), Kochi. The novel debating format that has been painstakingly crafted by the NUALS Debate Forum,namely the ‘Devil’s Cross’,is the factor that sets the tournament apart from its peers.
