Alternate versions of cartoon characters

While most cartoons do not feature aging characters, there are some shows which show cartoon characters in a different form: they age, or they have a counterpart who is really similar to them, or they are found in an alternate universe. Some are found in cartoons, others are found in comics, video games, or, to a lesser extent, live action television series.

List of alternate versions of cartoon characters
*Younger versions of cartoon characters, featuring established characters as babies, children and younger teenagers. Examples include Muppet Babies, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Jungle Cubs, Little Archie, Smallville, Cave Kids, etc.
