Early life and education
Alptekin Aydin was born on May 24, 1973 in Moda, Istanbul. He completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Istanbul University, followed by an internship at Galatasaray High School, where he focused on psychology and philosophy teaching formation. He then pursued a master’s degree in psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London, specializing in neurological and pharmacological substance addiction. Aydin earned his doctorate (DClinPsy) in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience in the United States, where his research focused on the impact of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on social communication in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Aydin Married Funda Hocaoglu on September 27, 2014. She is an active certified public accountant in Turkiye.
Career
Aydin is a certified TMS practitioner with advanced training in QEEG and EEG interpretation. In 2018, he developed QPAN, a QEEG-guided personalized AI-based neuromodulation therapy system. This method integrates transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and tDCS neuromodulation techniques with brain function mapping and therapeutic programs. The QPAN system is designed to treat conditions such as autism, learning difficulties, epilepsy, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), neurological pains, depression, Anxiety and Panic attack, dementia, stroke, ocd and substance misuse.
Aydin, along with his wife Funda Aydin, is the founder and co-owner of Cosmos Healthcare Ltd., a clinic in Enfield, England, that provides neuromodulation treatments for neurological and psychological disorders. He also serves as the chairman of Cosmos Istanbul Health Services Inc., which provides healthcare services to Turkish-speaking communities in Europe and Turkey. Aydin's work as an expert witness involves preparing reports based on QEEG functional brain mapping for legal and institutional purposes.
