Allison "Alli" Blonski was a competitor, as an honors, or "A" student, in the United States Academic Decathlon who currently holds the highest score in the history of the competition. At the 2008 national competition in Garden Grove, California, with an over-arching theme of The American Civil War, she obtained a score of 9,321 out of 10,000 , breaking the previous record of 9,300 by Isabel Salovaara from Whitney Young Magnet High School in Illinois. Additionally, her speech, on the societal danger of Bratz dolls was featured in the speech showcase, in which it earned a bronze medal. Blonski is also one of only four competitors (as of the end of the 2007-08 school year) to have broken 9,300 points, and one of the three Academic Decathletes who scored over 9,300 at the 2008 national competition . She competed with the Division II champions Waukesha West from Wisconsin, and has since graduated . She will be attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in the Fall of 2008.
