AccuWeather Biography

Jason Handman came back home to the East Coast to join AccuWeather in July 2007.

Growing up outside of Philadelphia, Jason started his weather career early. In high school, every morning, no matter what the weather, Jason would be outside doing a live weather report to the entire school on the televised morning announcements.

After high school, Jason headed west where he attended the University of Southern California. While attending school in Los Angeles, Jason gained an abundance of experience in and outside of the entertainment industry. He interned with the Los Angeles ABC affiliate KABC, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and worked for the world famous KROQ radio station in the summer of 2006. In addition to interning and working at those stations, Jason was a weathercaster for USC's Nightly Live News Show, Annenberg TV News.

In the Fall of 2006, Jason had the opportunity to do live weather, sports and entertainment reporting on The KTLA Morning Show. During their Audition competition, Jason presented weather and entertainment reports and reported live from the sidelines of a Los Angeles Clipper's game.

Jason has earned his bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California and is currently enrolled in the Broadcast Meteorology program with Mississippi State University.

In his spare time, Jason likes to play the piano, run, play tennis, watch television and visit amusement parks. A self-proclaimed game show fan and a lifetime USC Trojan fan, Jason looks forward USC winning another national championship this year.
