Ali-Nakyea Abdallah

Abdallah Ali-Nakyea is a Ghanaian lawyer and academic, currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law. His specialization is in tax policy and law, and he teaches courses related to taxation, commercial law, and administrative law.

Academic Career
At the School of Law in the University of Ghana, Dr. Ali-Nakyea teaches courses in both the LLB and LLM programmes. Within the LLB programme, he covers subjects including Law of Taxation, Commercial Law, and Administrative Law. In the LLM programme, Dr. Ali-Nakyea instructs on topics such as Fiscal Dimensions of Oil & Gas, Tax Policy, Accounting & Public Finance, Functional Law, and Comparative Institutions of Government and Administration.
Professional Career
With over thirty years of experience, Dr. Ali-Nakyea has held several positions in taxation and financial management. He began his career as an Assistant Tax Manager at and later became a Senior Tax Consultant at KPMG. He has served as the Group Chief Accountant for BCM Ghana Limited and BCM International Limited, managing financial operations across Ghana, Mali, Tanzania, and Guinea. As a Tax Policy Advisor, he has contributed to the Ministry of Finance in Liberia and has provided training for the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria. Dr. Ali-Nakyea has also conducted research for the African Tax Administrators' Forum (ATAF) and the ECOWAS Commission on taxation and tax policies in West Africa.
Publications
Dr. Ali-Nakyea has made significant contributions to the field of taxation through his writings. He is the author of Taxation in Ghana: Principles, Practice & Planning and has co-authored Law of Taxation in Ghana alongside Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor and William Kofi Owusu Demitia. Additionally, he collaborated with Dr. Samuel Addo on Public Sector Economics and Finance.
