Alex Marques

Carlos Alexandre "Alex" Caseiro Marques (22 January 1993 - 17 November 2013) was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward and captained the FC Porto youth team.
Career
Marques started his career in the youthteam of Associação Desportiva Esposende and joined 2005 in the youthteam of FC Porto. He was than in the Season 2008/2009 loaned to Padroense F.C. and returned to Porto in May 2009. Marques played after his return a year with the under-19 team, before moved to the under-20 team of Rio Ave F.C.. He played two years with Rio Ave and made no one Senior game. At the begin of the 2012/2013 season, left the club and Marques signed for AD Esposende. He played here his Seniordebut on 2 September 2012 for Esposende against Desportivo Ronfe. Marques played in this season in 30 games for the Club and scored four goals. In summer of 2013 signed than with GD Tourizense and played for his this club until his death.
Death
Marques suffered a cardiac arrest after seven minutes of the competitive Division Three match between Tourizense and Carapinheirense.
On 18 November, a day before the crucial 2nd leg match between Sweden and Portugal, before training, Paulo Bento called his players together for a minute’s silent reflection in memory of Marques.
The same happened before the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualifying match between Israel and Portugal.
