Alenty

Alenty is a French company that provides audience measurement, rating, and marketing tools for blogs and advertising agencies. Among the variables Alenty measures are: time spent on different parts of a website, content and banner "visibility time," and relative banner surface area. Data about these variables are gathered in real time.

Methodology
Alenty combines human-computer interaction research with software tools in order to arrive at figures for a website's "commitment ratio" (the propensity of web visitors to share information), "community efficiency" (the percentage of auto-generated audience), and "real exposure to messages," including banners, online purchase forms and product lists. Alenty performs an automatic analysis of webpages that are modified using Ajax interactive software. The company's site uses an XWiki open-source platform.

Company History
The company was founded in 2006 by two Nielsen//NetRatings R&D Directors, Laurent Nicolas and Nicolas Thomas. It is headquartered in Paris, France, with additional offices in Quimper.

Awards Finalist
In 2007 Alenty was a finalist in the Concours d'Aide à la Création d'Entreprises de Technologies Innovantes (Competition for Innovative Companies) organized by OSEO, a French governmental agency formerly known as Agence de l'innovation industrielle. Also in 2007 the company was a finalist in the Grand Prix de Paris Innovation Award, and the Tremplin Entreprise ESSEC- Senat Enterprise Award.
