Albert Mariner was an organiser for Tower Hamlets National Front in London. He was 63 years of age and had fought in the Second World War. On the evening of Tuesday 3 May 1983, he was on his way to a local National Front election meeting. A group of rioters had gathered near the meeting and Albert was hit on the head by a brick thrown by one of the rioters. He died the following day. To date no official inquest into his death has been announced. The National Front hold a memorial day in London, in Albert's memory. The British white power punk band Skrewdriver wrote and recorded the song 'Sick Society' in Albert's memory.
