Alan Simon Questel (born April 28, 1953 in New York City) is a former actor and senior Feldenkrais Method Trainer. He trained with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and his associates in Amherst, MA and Tel-Aviv, Israel, from 1980-1983. As an actor, he worked with Jerzy Grotowski and Paul Sills, among others. Biography Alan Questel grew up in New York City attending public schools, completed 2 years at Hunter College (1971-1973, NYC), attended a season at The Brattleboro Center for the Performing Arts (1973-1974, Brattleboro, VT) and went on to receive a BFA in Acting from S.U.N.Y. College at Purchase (1977). As an actor he worked with Jerzy Grotowski and The Polish Theatre Laboratory from 1973 through 1978 in America, France and Poland. He performed in Paul Sills’ Story Theatre, directed by Paul Sills in 1979 and is a member of Actors Equity. Alan was an Assistant Professor at Princeton University, teaching acting, improvisation and directing shows (1980-1983). In 1983 Questel completed his Feldenkrais Training. Questel left acting and has pursued teaching the Feldenkrais method full time ever since. He began his practice in New York City, later in Marin County, CA and now in Santa Fe, NM. He has taught at The New York Open Center (1984-1991), The East West Institute for Holistic Studies (1983-1984), The New Actors Workshop (1988-1991), as a Lecturer for the Institute of Movement Studies teaching professional workshops for PTs and OTs in hospitals throughout the US, as an Adjunct Instructor at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology PhD Program (1992-1993). and Cali, Colombia.
