AKUOMA (GOOD WEALTH) - THE MAKING OF AN IGBO MOVIE ON CINEMA.
Akuoma, a young girl, poor and wretched but with a good moral upbringing, becomes greedy in her quest for survival. As she journeys through life, she discovers that "all that glitters is not gold" and "a good name is better that wealth". Obioma, a wealthy young and handsome gentleman, comes with an undying love that is thicker than blood. And as both of them cross their paths in coincidence, it unfolds many events with emotions, suspense and intrigue that lead to betrayal, trust, compromise and hope.
Shot on Cinema Standard with Canon EOS 7D, Akuoma is set to break the grounds from Epic to Contemporary and Modern settings.
Akuoma's Locations (Umuagwo and Owerri in Imo State, Nigeria) were carefully chosen to reflect the true picture of what happens in our present day Villages, Cities and Towns in their originality. There are no make-believe props or sets.
The Movie Akuoma stars fresh great talents: Lisar Kanu as Akuoma, Obinna Ibiam as Obioma, Abuchi Val as Ebuka, Gozie Okeke as Nneoma and Jude Orji Jude as Chidi.
Produced by: This Experience Entertainment Company, in association with Storm-Blast Media. Directed by: Vining Ogu and DoP: Maurice Otu, this film is expected to feature in major international film festivals across Africa.
Currently has been submitted for nominations to major film festivals in USA, UK, Europe and Africa.
