Akimuddin Gronthagar is a library situated at Jaminpur of Shibganj Upazila in Chapai Nawabganj, the western part of the nortern Bangladesh. It was established on 4 May 2008 to show respect a undermatric teacher named Akimuddin(1898-1976). Akimuddin Gronthagar contains a philosophy 'knowledge is entry'. The library was established on 4 May, 2008. It has more than 500 books and other tools and papers. It has a team led by Jahangir Alam Sur, science writer and science discussant. Within a year it worked very good with the students of science. The team arranges many programs on science. It has a program 'a science discusion on Lavoisier and a science oration, knowledge is entry.' at Islami University, Kustia on 20 August 2009. Akimuddin Sir Akimuddin , in 1958, for the first time dreamt for a school in his own village, Jaminpur and established Jaminpur Primary School. And with Kalimuddin he continued teaching till 1973. He was born in 1898 in Duisotobighi, Maldah of India. After 15 August, 1947 he came to Jaminpur of East Bangla to live. He saw the freedom war of 1971. In the year of great poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's death, i.e., 1976 Akimuddin Sir died. Observations Thousands of people witnessed the longest total solar eclipses of the 21st century on Wednesday, 22 July, 2009 defying rain and a heavily overcast sky. Before this a "total solar eclipse observation committee" was formed with Bishwa Sahitya Kendra, Liberation War Museum, Chhayanaut's educational initiative Nalanda, Samannito Shikkha-Sangskriti, Bangladesh Nature Study and Conservation Union, and Cosmic Culture to observe the eclipse. Science initiative Discussion Project coordinated the committee, which set up the main observation camp at Madhupara village and another at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka. With the help of BRB Cable Industries Ltd, the committee also set up observation camps at Bell's Park in Barisal, Akimuddin Library in Chapainawabganj, science and technology university campuses in Syedpur and Gazipur, Jahangirnagar University and Araj Ali Matubbar library at Dania in Dhaka. Akimudin Gronthagar arranged three camps to observe century's one and only solar eclipse of July 22, 2009 on 22 July 2009. 99.56% totality was observed from main camp at Kamat Maath, Binodpur, Chapai Nawabganj. Totality started at 07:57:41BDT and end 3 minutes 44 seconds later. The other two camps were set up at Poddar Paar in Rajshahi and at railway's Dhar in Uttar, Dhaka.
