AirCab

AirCab is a proposed German low-cost, per-seat, on-demand Air Taxi operator which will begin operations from 17 bases in 2010. The company had not yet placed any orders for aircraft but requires 50 aircraft to start operations. A number of types of Very Light Jet are being considered including the Embraer Phenom 100, the Cessna Citation Mustang, or the Eclipse 500.
History
AirCab was founded in 2005 and became a founding member of the Air Taxi Association Europe. It is proposed to operate to a network of short-range destinations (300 km - 1000 km) providing an on-demand service bookable through the internet. Up to now, AirCab is the only European operator that strives for a per-seat business model.
AirCab has started planning operations using market research with an aim to start operations from 17 locations around Europe. AirCab then plans to add to the number of bases and increasing the number of destinations.
Development
AirCab has received an undisclosed amount in its first funding round in 2007. Further funding is expected ahead of the start of operations in 2010.
