Ahmad Jawed is an Indian journalist, fiction-writer and columnist. His column FIKR-E-FARDA appears every Sunday on editorial page of the Hindustan Express Urdu daily in New Delhi regularly since May 2006. His contributions in the field of journalism are 25 years. He started career in this field in 1982 as a special Correspondent for Sangam Daily under Editorship of Mr. Ghulam Sarwar, an outstanding journalist and stalwart Socialist leader. He Contributed the Qaumi Awaz (Patna) for years and served as Bureau chief for Qaumi Tanzim, Patna (1990-1993) and Editor (in-charge) for Nai Dunya Weekly (2000-2003). He translated the UNESCO profile book the Sasia story by Madanjeet Singh, Goodwill Ambassador in Hindi named Sashia ki Kahani and edited Sahra Bhi Gulzar Lage a selection of poetry by Shabnam Kamali, a Sufi saint poet. He contributes to Nai Dunya Weekly as a sociopolitical analyst regularly since 2003 and writes several articles every week for this national Urdu weekly. A group of youth Urdu journalist established the Hindustan Express daily in 2006 and he joined the group.
