Ahmad Ishaq

Ahmad Ishaq is the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of ByteCubed, an IT consulting firm specializing in next generation software and technology headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
Early Life
Ahmad and his family immigrated from Afghanistan in the mid-1980s to escape from the Soviet occupation.
Career
Ahmad began his career at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in 2005. At the DIA, he was responsible for the A-Space Program as part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) portfolio of analytic, transformative programs. The program was later covered by The Economist, Government Computer News, and Time Magazine and received awards including including individual and team recognitions.
Ahmad subsequently started ByteCubed. ByteCubed is a transformative, federally-focused technology consulting company, whose primary mission is to transform and modernize government programs, identify inefficiencies and existing gaps, and implement next-generation technologies. In 2016, ByteCubed was named a 2016 Top Workplace by The Washington Post, a 2016 Best Place to Work by the Virginia Business and Best Companies Group (VBBCG), and a 2015 Arlington, Virginia’s Fastest Growing Company by Arlington Economic Development, in partnership with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
Education
Ahmad holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills, as well as a Masters of Science from George Washington University. He also holds a Masters of Arts (ABT) from Johns Hopkins University, Carey School of Business.
Personal Life
Ahmad currently resides in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife and two daughters.

- Awarded the 2009 Director’s “Team Award” by Lt General Ronald Burgess
- Awarded with a “Special Acts Award” by DoD in 2009
- Recognized in 2008 with the “Recognition of Excellence Award” from Lt General Michael Maples
- While pursuing his undergraduate degree, awarded for bringing major technological capabilities to California State University, Dominguez Hills, one of the first completely wireless campuses in America, and elected Chairman of the University’s IT Council
- Finished first place in McKinsey’s Virtual Venture Competition
- Established the Federal CIO Lecture series at George Washington University
