Afri-Culture was founded on February 2013 by Raissa Nkuba, who is also the publication's Editor-in-Chief. Shortly following its launch, Afri-Culture published an article that listed the 15 Most Influential Africans in Canada, generating much attention nationally and internationally. Afri-Culture has interviewed celebrities and public figures such as Isaiah Washington, Nana Meriwether, Remi Adetiba, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Dr. Hawa Abdi, Molly Johnson, Jason Njoku, Professor Francisca Okeke, Redi Tlhabi, Menaye Donkor and Calestous Juma. Locally, Afri-Culture has had the pleasure of interviewing the likes of Gwen Madiba, Komi Olaf, Grace Odumo, Jana Hanzel and Emilia Torabi and Christa Mayaliwa. In February, Afri-Culture partnered up with Ajoa Cakes to organize the first ever Young Afro-Canadian Startup Founders' Networking Night, a concept that seeks to consolidate young Afro-canadian entrepreneurship talents, and open new opportunities for them within the Afro-canadian community. One of the event's sponsors was NBA player, Anthony Tolliver.
