AdEngage

AdEngage is a advertising company that allows publishers in their network of approved content sites to serve automatic text, image, and rich media advertisements that are targeted through site content and audience. These adverts are approved, administered, and maintained by AdEngage Inc., and they can generate revenue on either a per-click(CPC) or per-impression(CPM) basis.
Overview
Like Google AdSense, AdEngage uses a proprietary display algorithm to serve advertisements based on website content, geographical location of the visitor, and other factors. AdEngage was a pioneer in developing early Internet ads; by combining both photos and text together in a single ad unit, this blend often saw more success than either ad individually. AdEngage became a popular alternative to other advertising companies due to their direct ad sales capability over vertically targeted categories. By listing a large portion of their network in a searchable directory, advertisers had the option to only run specific ads on specific sites, thereby improving marketing campaigns and increasing Click Through Rate (CTR).
History
AdEngage was founded in 2004 with the purpose of providing more flexible and customizable ad units than large advertising networks would allow, while offering more than the reach and depth of advertisers of other smaller programs.
AdEngage experienced rapid growth, and in 2008, AdEngage joined with Technorati, the largest social media ad network in the world, to begin serving ad solutions across numerous new platforms.
In 2011, AdEngage became the privately held AdEngage, LLC and is reported serving over 100 Billion Ad impressions annually.
Details of current service
AdEngage’s services have grown significantly since its first inception. Now, publishers have the option to create, configure, and manage their ad zone through an online configurator. This option allows for size, shape, text and background color changes without the need for HTML/CSS knowledge. Support for mobile browsing & fully secured communications has also been added.
Directory of Sites
One unique property of AdEngage compared to other services like AdSense is their public listing of sites in their directory. Upon signup, webmasters have the ability to allow their site to be listed publicly for advertisers to search. This directory allows for any web surfer to easily become a direct advertiser without the need for communications. Prices are set by the domain owner, and can be set to run for either time or clicks based metrics.
Payment Methods
AdEngage has several different payment terms. They pay their “VIP Publishers” (people making a good bit of money) bi-weekly. They pay everyone else net 30 (which means at the end of the month). That’s pretty standard with a lot of online ad networks. They payout with your option of (PayPal), check, wire, paxum, (Moneybookers)/skrill and have a $50 minimum payout.
