The Adelphi Shopping Center, is located in the 2500-2600 block of University Boulevard E., Adelphi, Maryland. It is home to the longest continuously operating location of Jumbo Food Store / Shoppers Food Warehouse and the original Ledo Restaurant. The center opened in 1953 with six storefronts. In 1955, the original "Ledo's," a favorite traditional spot for pizza catering to University of Maryland sports fans and brought to national prominence by The Oprah Winfrey Show, opened. The Jumbo Food Store was added to the center in 1958. The center is currently managed by Alvin Peck Company, Inc.
