Adedayo Ojo

Adedayo Ojo (born 11 May 1960) is a Nigerian corporate communications strategist who founded Caritas Communications Limited, a reputation management consultancy, which was awarded the best Reputation Management Consulting firm at the 2016 African Corporate Excellence Awards. Ojo is also the Chairman, Board of Directors of a Lagos radio, City FM 105.1.
Early life and education
Adedayo ‘Dayo’ Ojo (born 11 May 1960) is from Modakeke in Osun State. He had his early education at St. Bernard's Primary School, Ile-Ife and St. Murumba's Primary School Ile-Ife. Ojo’s secondary education was both at St. John's Grammar School, Ile-Ife and Modakeke High School.
Ojo graduated from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature. Adedayo also attended the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos where he obtained a Certificate in News Reporting. Ojo holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Ibadan and Public Relations Business School, London respectively.
Career
Ojo started his career as a journalism teacher at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) where he taught News English and Public Relations. He then moved on to Concord Newspapers Group Lagos as a Senior Correspondent. From Journalism, he moved to the corporate sector by joining the Financial Merchant Bank (FMB), Lagos as the Public Relations Officer of the bank. Thereafter, he secured a job as a Public Affairs Coordinator / Advisor for Mobil Producing Nigeria, a subsidiary of the then Mobil Oil Corporation.
Ojo’s career at ExxonMobil spanned a period of 14 years within which he held top executive positions before opting for retirement in early 2006.
In July 2006, he joined Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc as the Vice President in charge of Corporate Relations. He worked in this position for two years and half before leaving to run Caritas on a full-time basis.
In 2018, Ojo wrote his first book 'Public Relations Thoughts & Deeds'.
