Adam pauley

Adam Pauley is a 24 year old man from Daniels, West Virginia. He works as a coal miner, is a member of the national coal-advocacy organization, Friends of Coal, and is notable for making death threats to mountain-top removal activists while in public.
September Arrest
Pauley was arrested Thursday, September 17 by West Virginia State Police after making an appearance at a July 4 party. Held by Larry Gibson, the party was held at Gibson's Kayford Mountain home in Raleigh County’s Coal River area. The people attending were anti-mountaintop removal activists. Pauley showed up uninvited and intoxicated. He threatened to kill several people, and cursed repeatedly in the presence of children, at one point making a throat-cutting gesture at a parent with a child.
Adam Pauley was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and assault (verbal). He was arrested by Sgt. M.A. Smith of the Whitesville, West Virginia detachment, and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
Army Corps Hearing Death Threat Allegations
On October 13, 2009, while attending an Army Corps public hearing on the nationwide permit 21 (NWP-21), Pauley again allegedly threatened to kill two activists, and had to be physically restrained from attacking them by police. The activists later had to be escorted out by police.
Jason Bostic, Vice-President president of the West Virginia Coal Association, when questioned about the role of angry miners and the risk of death to activists at the hearing, replied, "Well, it's the same thing when you guys risk our lives shutting down machinery."
