Adam Bailey

Adam Bailey (born March 6, 1988) is the right fielder for the AA Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League.
Amateur Career
High School
Bailey was a three-time all-region selection at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, helping the team to a 94-8 record and three straight state titles at the school hitting .389 or better in all three seasons for Coach Jerry Dawson.

College
2007
Bailey began his collegiate career at Arizona State, making 10 appearances as a pitcher helping the Sun Devils reach the College World Series in 2007 Fanning 13 over 10.2 innings of work.

2008
He was one of the standout players for Coach Todd Eastin at South Mountain Community College. He was a two-way performer who earned first-team Arizona Community College Athletic Conference honors, hitting .400 with four homers, 21 doubles and 40 RBIs. He worked extensively out of the bullpen, going 1-1 with four saves and a 1.13 ERA in 16 innings of work.
2009
Bailey was one of the Big 12's top newcomers after transferring from South Mountain Community College taking over the starting duties in right field, hitting .325 with 12 homers and 50 RBIs in 52 games. He led the Huskers in homers, RBIs, slugging percentage (.598), hits (63), doubles (15) and total bases (116). He finished with 17 multi-hit games and a team-high 11 multi-RBI efforts. Adam saw time on the mound, going 1-0 with a save in five appearances. He recorded his first multi-homer day against Cal State Bakersfield on May 9, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Named to the Bearkat Classic All-Tournament team, belting two homers and driving in four RBIs against Missouri State and collecting a save against Sam Houston State the following day. Homered and earned a win in relief against Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 21, becoming the first Husker to homer and earn a win in a game since Alvie Shepherd in 1995.
He played summer ball for the Beatrice Bruins under Coach Bob Steinkamp, hitting .250 with four homers and 11 RBIs in 19 games.
2010
Adam Bailey was a first-team All-Big 12 performer in 2010, hitting .368 with 18 homers and 69 RBIs leading the Big 12 in homers and RBIs, while also ranking among Big 12 leaders in slugging percentage (.691, second), total bases (154, third), batting average (ninth) and runs (57, 10th). He Had 24 multi-hit games and has 20 multi-RBI efforts in 2010, becoming the first Husker since Alex Gordon in 2004 to have 20 multi-hit and multi-RBI games in a year. Drove in a career-high eight RBIs - the most by a Husker since 1999 - going 3-for-7 with a homer at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium on May 18. Had an 11-game hit streak snapped on March 26 against No. 12 Oklahoma, as he hit .520 (26-for-50) with five homers and 23 RBIs. Named Big 12 Player of the Week on March 22 after hitting .562 (9-for-16) with two homers and eight RBIs in four games.
He was selected by the Houston Astros in the 23rd round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft.
Professional Career
After being drafted, Bailey played for the Tri-City ValleyCats of the short season New York-Penn League hitting .235 in 66 games.
He was sent to the Lexington Legends to begin his second year in the minors with a .282 average and 16 homeruns before being promoted to the Class A Lancaster Jethawks of the California League. he went .289 with 27 RBIs in 30 games before being promoted again to AA Corpus Christi starting off strong helping the team end a 12 game lossing streak.
