Acoustic consultant

Acoustic consultant is the term generally used by the construction industry for the acoustical engineering professional specialised in the design of building acoustics, environmental acoustics, vibration control, industrial noise control, electroacoustics.
The acoustic consultant generally differs from any other acoustical engineer because the former tends to advise on acoustic issues related to the building industry and to planning, rather than in the design of technological products. The skillset necessarily includes knowledge of building technologies, of planning, of relevant standards and legislation, and liaison skills with architects, contractors, policy makers and other parties involved in construction and planning.
