The Jain Prophet Jain Acharya Shrimad BuddhiSagr Surishwarji ( Ocean of Knowledge) India / Bharat is well-known for the Birth of Divine persons, Saints, Tirthankars, Philosophers. The name of this great Prophet is well-known not only to the Jains, but to several other persons of other religions also, who were interested in the life and teachings of this wonderful man. He was really an ocean of knowledge and his name signifies the vast knowledge and Soul Force which are apparent in his life and various books which he has written. Shrimad BuddhiSagarji was a Bramchari throughout his life. Birth This great man was born in 1874 A.D. on a Shivratri Day in Vijapur in a cultivator's family. His mother's name was Ambabai and father's name was Shivdas. His name was Bechardasbhai Patel prior to diksha. He was helping his parents in the field and at home. He passed his childhood in this condition without any means of getting Education. Once Mahant Ishwardasji predicted that this child is very luck and would become a great man in future. His parents died in 1901 and he came in connection with Jains and Jain Saints where he got conclusion from Saints about Karma and Dharma so he decided to leave World and pass his rest of his like as Jain Muni. He was much inspired by Shrimad RaviSagarji Maharaj Sahebji and decided to take 'Diksha' under Shrimad SukhSagarji Maharaj Sahebji. The ceremony was performed at Palanpur and his name was declared Shri BuddhiSagarji. Life as a Saint Shrimad BuddhiSagarji Mahraj Sahebji devoted all his time in reading various books and Shastras of different religions and acquired vast knowledge through this. He then began to write books and devoted all his time in self realization. He studied Sanskrit by going to Benaras and got a mastery over this language to a great extent, so that he could write his most valuable books and 'Manuscripts'. Apart from Sanskrit he known fluent 'Ardhamaghdi' (original language of Jains) much harder than Sanskrit. His most valuable book 'Karmayoga' in original Sanskrit and also translated in Gujarati, depicts complete knowledge of Karmayog by giving instance from the lives of almost all the great persons of the world. In his book of 'Karmayoga' he has shown in full details the path of Salvation fir every human being. Karmayoga means Soul Purification. Nearly 25000 books he read of different religions and written 115 books of his own. He has written on every subject which is useful in life. He was great yogi. He was a Poet, and wrote many 'Bhajans' which all have come from the bottom of his soul, which had appealed thousands of his followers. His life was ideal and life of great austerity, complete renunciation, humility, compassion, love for all, and a desire for the good of all and for the peace and prosperity of nation. The Maharaja of Baroda invited him to give several religious lectures in his Lakshmi Vilas Palace, Baroda and His Highness Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad III was greatly impressed with his wonderful life and Yoga. He felt a great impact in life after getting in touch with Sahebji and became one of his true follower. A painting can be seen at his palace with Sahebji and same alike portrayal had been installed at vijapur temple (Guru Mandir) given itself by Maharaja Gaekwadji. He also came into connection with Mahatma Gandhiji, Lala Lajpatrai, Pandit Malaviya etc. and discussed with them about the prosperity of India. 'Acharya' - Preceptor On the death of his Guru Shrimad SukhSagarji Maharaj Sahebji in 1913 the responsibility of his group (Sangada) came upon him. The Jain Sangh of Pethapur gave him the title of Acharya (Preceptor) in 1914. The Pandits of Benaras came to know about him from his various books and gave him the Degree of Shashtravisharad (Masters of all Shastras). People of all classes, Jains, Hindu, Muslims, Brahamins, Patidars, Rajputs and Kolis became his disciples. He gave knowledge to all without any distinction. After Baroda, he went to Marwad, Mewad, Saurashtra, Maratha and such other places to give his message of religion and humanity. He had strong body, loud voice, in born knowledge of preparing Bhajans and Poems and all people who came into his connection wondered at his natural talents. He meditate much of his time in caves and on the banks of rivers. He was a great patriot and had discussions with Mahatma Gandhiji, Lala Lajpatrai, Pandit Malavia, RanchhodBhai Udairam and kEshav Harshad Dhruv and Kavi Shri Nanalal. Great Philosopher His philosophy was natural. Every lines came from his spiritual knowledge and every word is prophetic. He said World is only a 'Guest House' and every man is given opportunity to purify his life and to make free from all Karmas, so that there would be no birth or death in future. This can be acquired by doing all your work without any desire for its fruit. In all his Bhajans, he has given description of various aspects of life. How it is entangled with Karmas and has showed how it can become free from them. He has shown the people the real path of 'Salvation'. He passed a life of Sanctity, Renunciation, devotion and real knowledge of showing the path of Salvation.
