Academy Snowboard Co

Academy Snowboard Co. is a snowboard company based in Auburn, California. The company was started in 2002 by Jeff Baughn and Duane Pacha in Carlsbad, California. Academy Snowboard Co. designs, markets, and sells freestyle snowboards and apparel to retailers in the United States and distributors worldwide.

Notable company highlights include Transworld Snowboarding Team Challenge wins in 2004 and 2005 and Academy Snowboard Co remains the only company to ever win the Transworld Team Challenge in back to back years . Academy Snowboards also boasted the Transworld Snowboarding Men's Rider of the Year, Chad Otterstrom, in 2005 .
Academy Snowboard Co. has won awards for its snowboards including the Transworld Good Wood award for their Rhythm series in 2003, Merit series in 2006, and Serenity series in 2011.. Academy Snowboard Co. also received the Top 10 board award for the Team series in 2006 from Future Magazine and Onboard Magazine.
In 2006, Academy Snowboard Co. collaborated with Chris Pastras and Jason Lee of Stereo Skateboards to release the limited edition 'Dots and Instruments' graphic for their Rhythm series.
Academy Snowboard Co. stays involved with the snowboard community by putting on an annual snowboard camp at Boreal Mountain called "Camp Academy" that focuses on teaching snowboarding techniques to riders of all age and ability level at a two day camp coached by their professional team. Other programs Academy Snowboard Co. is known for include the "Cash for Kids" contest series, Foundation Scholarship award, and high school snowboard team FUNdraisers in their local community. One-percent of the company's regional sales go back to their scholarship program.
Academy Snowboard Co.'s 2011 snowboard team includes Jonas Michilot, Jordan Michilot, Chad Tarbell, Ryan Tarbell, and Melissa Evans.
