Academy Hill UBC Okanagan

Academy Hill is an area located directly above the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus on a street called “Academy Way.” This street serves as a home for many university students as it currently has six apartment buildings with various new complexes currently under construction. It’s close location and flexible living options makes it a desirable area for student to reside.
Current apartment complexes include
Academy Building 1 (975 Academy Way) and Academy Building 2 (985 Academy Way). These building were the first residence buildings built on this street back in 2014. These buildings offer 2 and 3 bedroom options and have a Fresh Slice, liquor store and Chinese restaurant built under building 1.
The development company, Missions Group, owns U-one, U-two (and U-three and U-five- currently under construction) along the hill. These modern apartment buildings offer studios, one bedrooms, 2 bedrooms and 3 bedroom suites.
The newest buildings along Academy Way are Veda A and Veda B and were developed by Domus Housing. Veda A opened in September 2016 with Veda B opening a month later in October 2016. These buildings offer single occupancy living in studio style units. Unlike other buildings along the hill, Veda offer amenities spanning from study spaces and club rooms to a full equipped workout centre. Although the street is within walking distance from UBCO and primarily houses students, it is not a requirement to attend UBCO.
Non-apartment buildings
Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School is also located midway up the street. It is a private school for students K-12. This school generates traffic between the hours of 8:00am-8:30am and from 3:00pm-4:00pm.
